Assets and share images
Create and design a club's assets, and manage the photos an ambassador's pages and assets show.
An asset is an image Supporter Club makes from a design, such as a social media post personalised for each member. You design it once for the club. A workflow can then make it for a member and attach it to an email. See Workflows and Emails.
This page also covers an ambassador's Photos, which page designs pick by name. For the image shown when an ambassador's story page link is shared, see the share image section of Pages.
Your club's assets
- Open the club.
- In the sidebar, select Assets.
Each asset shows as a card with a preview image, its title and its description. An asset with no description shows "There is no description for this asset." With no assets, the screen says "No assets were found."
Each card has Design, which opens the asset, and More, with Copy asset and Delete asset.
Create an asset
- On Assets, select Create an asset.
- Under "What type of asset would you like to create?", choose Generic membership asset from Select an asset type. It is the only type offered. The new asset's description starts as "A blank membership social media asset".
- Select Create.
The asset is created with a published version and opens in the asset builder. It is a square canvas, 1080 by 1080 pixels: "Square Post (1:1) – Instagram posts and profile photos".
Design an asset in the asset builder
Assets open in the asset builder: a canvas with a Layers panel on the left and a Settings panel on the right. You can only change a draft. On the published version, select Edit to start one. See Versions, previewing and publishing.
- Switch asset, at the top left, opens another of the club's assets. With no others, it says "There are no other assets". It also offers Create an asset.
- Preview as an ambassador shows the asset with one of the club's ambassadors' details. Choose from Select ambassador.
- Layers lists everything on the canvas. Select Add layer to open Add a layer, choose a layer type, then select Add layer. Each layer's menu offers Rename and, where the layer can be removed, Delete.
- Select anything on the canvas to change it in the Settings panel. The settings work as in the page builder; see Pages.
- Hide Layers and Hide Settings put a panel away.
The header shows:
- On the published version: Edit, and under More, View history.
- On a draft: Publish, and under More, Asset settings and Discard changes.
- Close takes you back to Assets.
Asset settings
On a draft, select More, then Asset settings. Change the asset's Title and Description, which are shown on its card, and select Save changes.
Copy an asset
- On the asset's card, select More, then Copy asset.
- Under Name, give the copy a name "so you can tell it apart from the asset you are copying". It starts with the name of the asset you are copying.
- Select Create copy.
The copy is made from the asset's most recent version, whether that is published or a draft. It is a new asset with its own published version and a draft, and the draft opens in the asset builder.
Delete an asset
- On the asset's card, select More, then Delete asset.
- Read the warning: "Once deleted, this asset and all of its versions will be permanently removed."
- Select Continue.
An ambassador's photos
Each ambassador has a Photos panel. Photos you add there can be shown on their pages: a page design asks for a photo by its Name, and each ambassador's photo with that name is shown. Asset designs don't use these photos. This is separate from the ambassador's profile photo, which is set in their Profile panel.
To open the panel:
- Open the club and select Members.
- Open an ambassador. The Photos panel is only on ambassadors' pages, not supporters'.
The panel lists each photo with its Name and Alt text. With none, it says "No photos were found."
Add a photo
- In Photos, select Add photo.
- Fill in:
- File: a PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF or SVG image, no larger than 5000 pixels wide or tall.
- Name: "The name a page design uses to show this photo". Each of the ambassador's photos needs a different name. If the name is taken, you see "Name is being used for another photo".
- Alt text: "Describes the photo for someone using a screen reader". Required.
- Select Add photo.
Use the same name for the same kind of photo across your ambassadors, for example "Training run". A design that shows "Training run" then shows each ambassador's own photo with that name.
Change or delete a photo
- Point at the photo's row and select Edit.
- Change the fields and select Save changes, or select Delete, then Delete photo to confirm.
Use photos in a design
In the page builder, select a part that shows photos, such as a gallery:
- Choose an ambassador in Preview as an ambassador. The photo list offers that ambassador's photos.
- Select Add photo, then pick a photo under Choose a photo.
- Drag the handles to change the order, or select Remove to take one out.
The design stores the photo names, not the files, so each ambassador's own photos with those names are shown.
Versions, previewing and publishing
How drafts and published versions work for pages, assets and documents, and how to publish, discard, look back at history or start a design again.
Documents and receipts
Create a club's documents, such as the donation receipt, design them in the builder or the designer, and choose their page size.
