Supporter Club
Getting started

Signing in

How an administrator receives an invitation, signs in with an emailed link, where they land, and signs out.

Supporter Club has no passwords. You sign in by asking for a login link, which Supporter Club emails to you. You can't create an account yourself: accounts come only by invitation from Supporter Club.

Your invitation email

When Supporter Club sets up your organisation, the representative it was set up with receives an invitation email. The subject is "<First name>, welcome to Supporter Club".

The email opens with "Welcome, <first name>!" and has a Get started button. The button signs you in and takes you straight to the admin area.

The Get started link works for 24 hours. After that, sign in from the log-in page instead, as described below.

If you weren't expecting the invitation, you can ignore it.

  1. Go to your organisation's log-in page, headed "Log in to your account". Its address is your organisation's Supporter Club web address with /log-in added at the end. For example, for an organisation whose domain is "ngo", the log-in page is https://ngo.supporter.club/log-in. If you open an admin page at your organisation's Supporter Club web address while you are signed out, you are taken to this page.
  2. Enter your email address in the field marked "Enter your email address to login".
  3. Press Log in.
  4. The "Check your inbox" screen appears. Open the email Supporter Club sent you.
  5. In the email, press Log in.

If you press Log in with the field empty, the page shows "Email address can't be blank".

The subject is "<First name>, here's your Supporter Club login link". The email has one Log in button.

  • The link works for 24 hours. If it has expired, or it is not a valid link, you are taken back to the "Log in to your account" page. Ask for a new link there.
  • If you didn't ask for the link, you can ignore the email.

How long you stay signed in

Once you have signed in, you stay signed in on that browser for 72 hours after you last used Supporter Club. After that, ask for a new login link.

If you open an admin page while you are signed out, you are taken to the "Log in to your account" page.

If no email arrives

The "Check your inbox" screen appears whatever address you enter. Supporter Club does not tell you whether the address belongs to an account, and it sends an email only when it does.

If no email arrives:

  1. Check that you entered the email address Supporter Club set your account up with.
  2. Press Try again to go back to the log-in form and enter the address again.

If you're sure the address is right and still get nothing, contact Supporter Club through the person or email address you dealt with when your organisation's account was set up. There is no support form in the admin.

The contact us link on the log-in screens opens a "Get in touch" form. Messages sent from that form go to your organisation's own email address, the one in the Contact panel of your organisation's settings, not to Supporter Club.

Where you land

Where the login link takes you depends on your access:

  • Administrators go to the admin area. Until your organisation's branding is finished, every admin page sends you to "Welcome to Supporter Club". See The welcome journey and branding your organisation.
  • Someone without administrator access goes to their ambassador membership page. If they are not an ambassador in any club, they go to one of their other membership pages.
  • Someone with neither is signed out again and shown the "Not authorised" page.

The "Not authorised" page

The "Not authorised" page says: "It looks like you don't have the requisite privileges to view that page."

You see it when:

  • you are signed in without administrator access and open an admin page, or
  • you follow a login link but have no administrator access and no membership.

If you think you should have access, contact Supporter Club as described in If no email arrives. Administrator access comes only from Supporter Club. The page's contact us link opens the same "Get in touch" form, which sends to your organisation's email address. Press Log in to go back to the log-in page.

Sign out

  • In the admin area, press Sign out at the foot of the sidebar, in the group headed with your first name.
  • On the welcome journey, which has no sidebar, press Sign out at the top of the page.
