Getting started

The organisation task list

The organisation set-up checklist, what completes each step, and the sidebar progress panel.

"Get your organisation set up" is the list of steps that gets your organisation ready to start fundraising. You can do the steps in any order, leave the list and come back to it. Every step must be done before any of your clubs can go live.

Open the task list

At the foot of the sidebar, outside a club, a panel shows "Get your organisation set up" and how many steps are done, for example "2 of 5 steps done", with a progress bar. Select the panel to open the list.

The panel disappears once every step is done.

Inside a club, the panel at the foot of the sidebar shows that club's own list instead. See Launching your first club.

How the list works

Each step has a title, a short description and a button. A step that is done shows a tick and no button. A step is ticked automatically as soon as its condition is met, and unticked if the condition stops being met.

The steps

Button: Edit settings. It opens Settings > Account.

The step is ticked when all of these are filled in:

  • in the Contact panel: the email address, the website address, the phone number and at least one part of the postal address;
  • in the Representative panel: First Name, Last Name and Title;
  • in the Disclosure panel: the Statement.

Each of these panels shows "Please complete all required fields" until its part is filled in. See Organisation settings.

Add your organisation's branding

The step is ticked when your organisation has a logo and its theme or one of its theme colours has been changed since Supporter Club set your organisation up.

You won't see this step unticked in the list. While it isn't done, every admin page, this list included, sends you to the welcome journey, where you finish your branding. See The welcome journey and branding your organisation.

Connect a payment provider

Button: Connect. It opens Settings > Payments.

The step is ticked once your organisation has any payment provider whose status is Awaiting Stripe, Ready or Blocked. A Stripe account counts as soon as it is connected, even while Stripe is still checking it. The step stays ticked if Stripe later withdraws clearance.

A provider that is Not connected does not tick it. The simulated provider your organisation starts with is never connected, so it never ticks this step.

See Payment providers, Connecting Stripe and Connecting PayWay or Payfast.

Route donations to your payment connection

Button: Configure. It opens Settings > Payments.

The step is ticked when every currency enabled for your organisation reaches, through your payment routes, a provider whose status is Ready. If no currencies are checked in the Currencies panel on Settings > Payments, every currency is enabled, so every currency must reach a Ready provider.

Connecting a provider does not create a route, so this step is not ticked by the step before it. A Stripe account that is still Awaiting Stripe does not count here.

See Currencies and routes.

Start your first club

Button: Create club. It opens the form for a new club.

The step is ticked once your organisation has a club. See Creating a club.

When every step is done

The progress panel leaves the sidebar. Your clubs can go live once their own steps are done too. See Launching your first club.
