Organisation settings — account, representative, disclosure, mission
The organisation Settings tabs, your account details, default membership options, the public contact form and your own account.
Your organisation's settings hold the details donors see, the people and addresses emails are sent as, and the defaults new clubs start from. This page covers the Account and Memberships tabs, the public contact form, and your own account.
Finding the settings
Click Settings in the sidebar, outside any club. The Settings screen has five tabs:
- Account: your organisation's account, representative, contact, disclosure and mission details. Covered on this page.
- Branding: your organisation's logo, named logos, colours and theme. See Themes, colours and logos.
- Memberships: the default membership options for new clubs. Covered on this page.
- Payments: currencies, payment providers, routes and tipping. See Payment providers.
- Email: your email layouts and sending identity. See Email layouts and sending identity.
Each panel on the Account tab works the same way. Click Edit on the panel, change the fields, then click Save changes. Click Cancel to leave without saving.
Account
The Account panel shows:
- Name: your organisation's name.
- Domain: your organisation's web address on Supporter Club.
- Campaign code: an optional identifier recorded on the donation a supporter makes when they join a club.
You can't change Name or Domain here. To change either, contact Supporter Club through the person or email address you dealt with when your organisation's account was set up. There is no support form in the admin.
Campaign code is described on screen as an "External campaign identifier to be associated with donations made to all clubs." Despite that description, Supporter Club records a campaign code only on the donation a supporter makes when they join a club. Later payments of a recurring donation, and donations you record by hand, get no campaign code. A club's own campaign code, or a membership option's own campaign code, takes the place of this one for that club's or option's joining donations. See Club settings.
Representative
The representative is the person who represents your organisation publicly. Fill in First Name, Last Name and Title.
The panel shows "Please complete all required fields" until all three are filled in. All three are needed to complete the "Sort the legal stuff" step of the organisation task list.
Where the representative is used:
- If your organisation sends email from its own address, the representative's first and last name is the sender name on automation emails. See Email layouts and sending identity.
- You can insert the representative's details into pages and emails with merge tags, such as
*|ORGANISATION_REPRESENTATIVE_FULL_NAME|*. See Merge tags.
Contact
The Contact panel holds your organisation's email address, website, phone number and postal address. Fill in the email address, the website ("Official website or social media page"), the phone number, the street, city and post code, and choose the country.
The panel shows "Please complete all required fields" until the email address, website and phone number are filled in, and at least one part of the postal address (street, city, post code or country) is filled in. These are needed to complete the "Sort the legal stuff" step of the organisation task list.
Where the email address is used:
- Messages sent through your public "Contact Us" form are emailed to it. See "The public contact form" below.
- If your organisation sends email from its own address, it is the address automation emails are sent from. Until then, emails are sent from Supporter Club's address. See Email layouts and sending identity.
- When you choose Create a new Stripe Connect account in Supporter Club, it is given to Stripe as the new account's email address. Connecting an existing Stripe account doesn't send it.
The hint under the email field says it is "Used as the reply-to address by applicable mailers". No email Supporter Club sends sets a reply-to address, so replies go to the address the email was sent from.
Where the website is used:
- When you ask Supporter Club to read your website for your branding, it reads this address.
- When you choose Create a new Stripe Connect account in Supporter Club, it is given to Stripe as the new account's business website. Connecting an existing Stripe account doesn't send it.
You can also insert the email address, phone number and address into pages and emails with merge tags. See Merge tags.
Disclosure
The disclosure statement should give your organisation's legal name and its registration number in every territory where it is registered. Type it in Statement.
The panel shows "Please complete all required fields" until a statement is saved. The statement is needed to complete the "Sort the legal stuff" step of the organisation task list.
The text on this panel says the statement is shown at the bottom of public pages and in email footers. No setting adds it to your pages or emails. The statement appears wherever a page, email or document contains the disclosure statement merge tag, *|ORGANISATION_DISCLOSURE_STATEMENT|*. Some starting designs already contain it, such as an email layout footer and the legal text of the donation receipt. To show it anywhere else, insert the merge tag there. See Merge tags.
Mission
Your mission is what your organisation does, in your own words. Type it in Mission.
When Supporter Club writes the starting copy for a new page, document, asset or mailer, such as those of a new club, it writes from your mission, and only from what the mission says. If the mission is empty, it writes no copy from it.
The mission is also filled in for you when you read your website for your branding and click Apply. Applying replaces the mission you had. You can also edit the mission on the last step of the welcome journey. See The welcome journey and branding your organisation.
Default membership options
Membership options are the amounts supporters can choose from when they join a club. The Memberships tab holds your organisation's default options.
Every new club starts with a copy of these options. Changing them doesn't change the options of clubs that already exist. To change an existing club's options, see Membership options and intervals.
The tab has two views, Options and Conversions.
Adding an option
- Go to Settings > Memberships.
- On Options, click Add option.
- Fill in the form:
- Title: a short heading for the option. Required.
- Amount: the amount, in your organisation's currency. Required.
- Image: an optional picture for the option.
- Blurb: a short description, up to 80 characters. Required.
- Description: the benefits supporters can expect, up to 350 characters.
- Campaign code: optional. Leave it empty to use the club's campaign code, or the organisation's campaign code if the club has none.
- Make this the default subscription option: tick to make this the default option.
- Click Add option.
Only one option can be the default. If you make an option the default, the option that was the default before stops being the default.
Editing or deleting an option
Click an option's card on Options to open Edit subscription option. Change the fields and click Save.
To delete the option, click Delete on the same screen and confirm "Are you sure you want to delete this option?".
Conversions
If your payment routes use more than one currency, each option's amount is converted into each currency. Conversions shows a table with a column for each option and a row for each currency. Your organisation's currency is marked Base. Click Refresh to reload the table.
To choose your currencies, see Currencies and payment routes.
The public contact form
Your organisation's public screens have a "Contact Us" or "contact us" link, for example in the footer of the sign-in screen and on the opt-in screen. The link opens a "Get in touch" form with name, email and message fields and a Submit button.
When someone submits the form:
- an email with the subject "Contact form submission" is sent to the email address in your Contact panel. It gives the sender's name, email address and message. It comes from Supporter Club's address, not the sender's.
- the sender sees "Message received, loud and clear".
Keep the Contact email address up to date, or these messages will not reach you.
Your own account
Your first name appears near the foot of the sidebar. Under it, click Account to open your own donor record. You can edit it like any other donor record. See Contacts.
